With a paintbrush and a bucket with water, your child will enjoy painting outdoors. From slides to sidewalk, encourage your child to paint different parts of the yard. Talk about how the sidewalk looks different after it's been painted. Watch the water evaporate in the hot sun.
Next time you're at the hardware store, pick up inexpensive brushes for your child and few extras for the neighborhood kids. They'll want to join this summer fun, too.
