Flags

Preschoolers can learn basic facts about the American flag.
This weekend, Memorial Day weekend, you should have many chances to hunt for flags. If you are just starting to teach your child about the flag, say, "That's the American flag. There are 13 stripes and 50 stars." You can even say the Pledge of Allegiance out loud. Don't expect a preschooler to remember what you teach him right away, but repeating facts might help him remember a few piece of knowledge about the flag.
